Brady Heights in 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — nathan @ 7:12 am

In January we had our annual meeting and elected a great group of people to the eleven board member positions and four director positions. We are all looking forward to another great year. We would love for you to get involved so please feel free to email me or call me if you are interested.

The board and officers met in February to devise a strategic plan for the neighborhood association. Here are some of the options we looked at:

- A Home Tour in September to showcase the historic homes of Brady Heights

- Updating the Neighborhood Directory and having them available so you know who your neighbors are and how to get a hold of them

- An initiative to help with the needs of our senior citizens in the neighborhood

- Brady Height 2 Initiative – Working with OSU and UCT to create a mixed use development on the open land to the east of our neighborhood.

- Catholic Charities Initiative – Working to save the buildings owned by Catholic Charities from being demolished.

- Social Events such as a summer block party, neighborhood walks, and holiday parties.

- Meet your neighbor dinners where we put together dinners for more chances to get know our neighbors.

- Community awareness campaign – Figuring out ways to increase neighborhood pride in Brady Heights

- Arts Parkway – Keeping our Arts Parkway (Denver Ave) beautiful

- and other initiatives.

If any of these interest you, or if you have other ideas for our neighborhood association, let me know. We would love to include you in our action groups.

We are looking forward to a great year. I hope you get involved.

Snow in Brady Heights

Filed under: Uncategorized — nathan @ 5:57 am

We had a wonderful snowfall in Brady Heights this February. It kept many of us in the neighborhood for several days. We made the best of the time by hanging out with neighbors and working on our homes. We also came together to help each other. I came back from a neighbor’s house late at night to find my whole driveway shoveled. My neighbor’s father brought his tractor and cleared off his driveway as well as all the neighbors’ driveways.

The artists in the neighborhood have enjoyed the snow as a medium for expression.

Brady Heights Tulsa Spirit Monument Ornament

Filed under: Art Parkway — blake @ 12:14 pm

Download, print and follow the included directions to create your own Tulsa Spirit Monument Ornament for your tree or as a great gift. This is an older-child or adult winter activity that takes a bit of patients and skill but its worth it. Due to the skill level and tools need to cut out the ornament, it is not suggested for smaller children. Give it a try.

Download and print the Tulsa Spirit Monument Ornament and the included instructions.

Homes for Sale

Filed under: Homes for Sale — nathan @ 5:16 pm

If you are looking to buy a home, look no further. We have many homes for sale that range in prices and run the rehab gamut from fixed up and beautiful to needing lots of TLC.

Check out our latest newsletter for a listing of the for sale homes in our neighborhood. Here are a few of the homes:

There are also homes that would be for sale if someone made an offer. To learn about such unlisted homes, you have to come to our next neighborhood meeting and talk to us.

I learned that the best way to find about a neighborhood is by asking the people who live in it. And the best way to ask is to come to the neighborhood meetings.

Thanks for checking out our website.
